AIHA Registry Programs Celebrates an Outstanding SCHC Meeting

The Society for Chemical Hazard Communication (SCHC) held their Fall Meeting September 23-27, 2017 in Arlington, Virginia. AIHA Registry Programs was pleased to attend the meeting to strengthen our partnership and to share the importance of the SDS and Label Authoring Registry with SCHC members, stakeholders, and employers. The meeting offered a wealth of updates on the GHS, OSHA HazCom 2012, TSCA, and REACH 2018 and is the premier technical conference in this area of practice.

Thank you to all who stopped by to chat with Angela Oler, Director of Operations, at the AIHA Registry Programs booth. It was amazing to see the SDSRPs out in force at the meeting.

Congratulations to SCHC for another outstanding meeting!

OHSMS Auditor Registry – Standard Setting

On September 28, 2017, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) attended the standard setting meeting hosted by AIHA Registry Programs for development of the new Occupational Health and Safety Management System Auditor Registry competency assessment. Standard setting is the process by which the passing score is set for the assessment and is a vital part of a valid and reliable credential. Thank you to our volunteers for their exceptional work!

AIHA Registry Programs is closely following the activity of the ISO 45001 update. This Standard, ISO 45001, Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements, makes up a large portion of the body of knowledge and significantly impacts the timeline of the OHSMS Auditor Registry launch. ISO states that:

“The burden of occupational injuries and diseases is significant, both for employers and the wider economy, resulting in losses from early retirements, staff absence and rising insurance premiums.

To combat the problem, ISO is developing a new standard, ISO 45001, Occupational health and safety management systems - Requirements, that will help organizations reduce this burden by providing a framework to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions, all over the world.”

Stay tuned for additional updates! Read more here.
